Winter Camp at Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp is again upon us and Troop 219 will continue the tradition of participating with fun and advancement opportunities for all. The dates are December 27 – December 31.

Please see the attached Course Offerings & Merit Badge Schedule, Special Programs Options, Permission Slip, BSA Medical form for scouts and adult leaders, and Outing Medication Form.

The handout can be used to determine which merit badge preferences you want to sign up for. You will also find special programs that include the Polar Bear Swim, Red Cross CPR & First Aid Basic, and Wilderness First Aid. For an additional cost, also available are Woodturning and Open Shooting.

The permission slip and money is due no later than December 2 or as soon as possible. Please give your paperwork to Mr. Joyner.

Mr. Joyner needs to know your 3 merit badge choices by that same date if not SOONER. You might be asked for others, if a class is full. If you know your choices sooner, great! It will increase your chances of getting what you want. Email Mr. Joyner your choices as soon as possible. The sooner the better.

First year scouts have the opportunity to work on Trail to First Class items in the afternoon with our adult leaders. If they would like to sign up for merit badges, be sure to take those appropriate to their tenure. They should also consider the entry level special activity – The Indian Village Afternoon Program.

ADULT TRAINING: CPR/1st Aid and Wilderness First Aid are being offered. Adults going to any BSA High Adventure Base need to be certified in Wilderness First Aid.

All Scouts and adults will need a current BSA Annual Health & Medical Record. The physical forms are needed plus copies of insurance cards before we leave and they are attached for your use — if you attended summer camp or a high adventure program this year, then the troop already has one on file that we can use and you need not provide another. This is assuming that your physical was done by a physician in 2016

All registered adults also need a current Youth Protection Training.

Let's again take a large contingent from Troop 219 this year, so please get your paperwork and money in as soon as possible.

Additional information will be sent as it is made available from the council office.

We do need additional adults to go with the troop this year to help. Please consider spending time camping with your scout and helping the troop; a win-win for all.
